Marzo 2009: 20 anni di web
Venti anni fa in questo mese (marzo)è accaduto qualcosa al CERN che avrebbe cambiato il mondo per sempre: tim Brners-lee consegnò a mano al suo supervisore Mike Sendall un documento intitolato "Gestione dell'informazione : una proposta"- mike lo descrisse coem "Vago ma entusiasmante" e diede il consenso a Tim per andare avanti con la proposta. L'anno seguente il WORLD WIDE WEB era nato. Questa settimana, è un piacere ed un onore per noi dare il benvenuto all'inventore del WEB qui di ritorno al CERN per sottolineare questo speciale anniversario nel luogo in cui il WEB è nato.

Twenty years ago this month, something happened at CERN that would change the world forever: Tim Berners-Lee handed a document to his supervisor Mike Sendall entitled "Information Management : a Proposal". "Vague, but exciting" is how Mike described it, and he gave Tim the nod to take his proposal forward. The following year, the World Wide Web was born. This week, it's a pleasure and an honour for us to welcome the Web's inventor back to CERN to mark this special anniversary at the place the Web was born.
